CAGED

 CAGED

My only fault was to be born,

Born with feminine features.

No mistake of mine,

But I was born anyways.

Labeled the weaker sex,

Tagged the strongest.

Stronger for creating and recreating.

Stronger for the multitude,

Liable to the mass.

Twas daft for me.

Absured to wear those apparel of comfy,

Irritional to take a stroll at the time of the day,

Monstrous to utilize what I've acquired,

Not at the expense of sex.

In a world of flexibility, I'm caged.

Lost in my abode, I'm a non entity.

I have no life of my own,

My deeds are dictated and scripted.

If misfortune was human, lt'll be me.

Apparently,I retaliated to an abuse and that was my flaw.

It's no fault of mine to be born.

Birthed with feminine features,

Was my crime. I'v been caged and

Boxed with no freedom and right.

My only mistake was to be born a WOMAN.

  1. This is the sad reality of an African woman where everything and anything she does is at the scrutiny of the opposite gender. Literally!!
